About Simon Ottway

I am a highly agile and strategic leader, with over twenty years of senior management experience across the charity, community and retail sectors. I bring an ability to analyse and break down complex issues into clear actions for organisational and financial improvement, coaching and engaging those around me to work collaboratively. Skilled in leadership of large headcount teams including remote and multi-site management, I have detailed first-hand experience of business planning and delivery, project management, employee engagement, organisational development and change leadership. I possess strong academic qualifications, having attained an MBA with distinction as well as completing senior leadership and strategy qualifications through the Chartered Management Institute. Previously I have qualified with a Postgraduate Certificate in Retail & Leadership as well as holding a degree in History. Passionate about community engagement, I have worked with local authorities and national agencies through my business roles as well as partnering with charities and community groups through fundraising activities, volunteering and as an independent advisor. I am currently working the with the charity ‘The Country Trust’ as a Project Manager and Organisational Development Lead, as part of a sponsored secondment from the John Lewis Partnership (JLP).
