About Simon Paransky

Simon is a skilled litigator building a broad civil and commercial litigation practice focused on product liability, class actions, and commercial disputes. He acts for a broad range of clients spanning the insurance, automotive, and construction and infrastructure industries, among others. Simon has appeared before all levels of Québec courts, including the court of Québec, Superior Court, and Court of Appeal, and was also involved on matters before the Supreme Court of Canada. In addition, he has represented clients before administrative tribunals, including the Tribunal Administratif du Travail (Québec Labour Board), the Administrative Tribunal of Québec, and the Québec Commission for Access to Information. Simon was involved in the successful defence of competition law class actions. He has also defended numerous product liability matters, obtaining full dismissals or favourable settlements for his clients. Aside from dispute resolution, Simon has advised clients on regulatory matters involving the distribution of insurance products in Quebec, judicial review of administrative measures, as well as compliance with French language laws. In recognition for his work, Simon was named “Stand-out Lawyer” by Thomson Reuters in 2024. This recognition was granted following independent nominations by in-house counsels that had worked with Simon. Simon has guest lectured at McGill and Concordia on the topics of class actions, dispute resolution, and negotiation.
