About Simon Parkin

My work focuses on human-centred security - usability evaluation of emerging technologies, user-centred security awareness and behaviour change techniques, and holistic approaches to information security management- I have engaged with companies of various sizes and sectors, and their employees, advising on effective delivery of security awareness material and workable security policies that move closer to supporting employees in their day-to-day work. This is critical, otherwise employees will create their own "shadow security" solutions, as described at - I have contributed to human-centred viewpoints for a range of audiences. This includes the "Awareness is only the first step" business whitepaper with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), outlining a framework that empowers employees to become the strongest link in their organisation's security.
