About Simon Paterson

I am the founder and owner of Paterson Associates. I help organisations and brands find their place in the world by understanding their purpose and creating more authentic, distinctive and compelling forms of self-expression. After a decade working in banking and broking in Brazil, London and New York, I have spent the past thirty six years creating and strengthening global and regional brands around the world. I have worked in a wide range of sectors including financial services, telecoms, media, technology, airlines, energy, cement, retail, wine and spirits, hospitality, university, business and design education and culture. Specialties: I am a member of the Medinge Group, a high level international think tank on branding. In I served on the advisory board of the Glasgow Collection, part of Glasgow – UK City of Architecture and Design. In 1992 I was visiting tutor to the design management MA programme at the Royal College of Art. Since 2022, I have been an academic collaborator at ESADE, the Barcelona business school, teaching undergraduate and masters courses in conscientious leadership and branding and marketing for sustainability. I have previously worked for some of the world’s leading branding and design agencies including, Wolff Olins, Addison, Enterprise, Studio Dunbar, and Pentagram.
