About Simon Peebles

Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) from the University of Waterloo, majoring in Social Development Studies with a minor in psychology and a specialization in social work and social action policy. Passionate for seeking transformative change in social justice spaces. Currently examining how contemporary Canadian literature moments conceptualizes experiences of (un)belonging through reference to and the incorporation of the visual arts. Research interests include exploring the intersections of national identity, colonial power structures, and the presence of exclusionary harm practices in sport participation for individuals who have been excluded from equitable and safe participation. Carrer-wise, a detail-orientated individual who strives to streamline organizational development and operations in the Recreation and Sports Sectors. Have worked with Municipalities, Water Parks and Private Swim Schools, demonstrating a vast work experience in all aquatic sectors. Strive to make the community safer by introducing water safety programs and teaching quality leadership programs at a provincial level that equitably prepare the next generation of lifeguards and swim instructors.
