About Simon Pitt

I was called to the Victorian Bar from Herbert Geer & Rundle Lawyers in 2003. I have since built a busy trial practice, appearing for a diverse range of clients. I do most of my work in the Supreme Court of Victoria and practise predominantly in the areas of commercial litigation and trusts, equity and probate. I have a keen interest in lecturing and teaching. I regularly write and present papers in my stated practice areas both to established CPD providers and law firms’ internal CPD programs. I have also previously lectured in Contract Law. I was an Honorary Secretary of the Victorian Bar Council for three years from 2007 – 2009. I was a member of the Victorian Bar Council in 2010. I was a member of the Victorian Bar's New Barristers' Committee for 7 years, including its chairman for 2 years. In 2010, I formed the Victorian Bar Student Engagement Committee which is dedicated to increasing students' awareness of the Bar as a career path following the study of law. I was the chairman of that committee for 5 years. I am currently serving on the Victorian Bar’s ethics committee and the Green’s List committee.
