About Simon Powlett

Simon Powlett leads the OMG Accelerate team and is the Managing Director for PHD across Central & Eastern Europe as well as the head of the PHD Global Business Hub in Budapest. Simon has over 20 years of global marketing and media experience covering Europe, the Americas, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. As a British national, Simon left the UK in 1996 to manage regional clients including Molnlycke SCA, Levi’s, Pepsi and Hasbro out of the newly formed Optimum Media office in Budapest, Hungary. At the end of 2009 Simon founded one of the first OMD Digital offices in the network, achieving a series of market and regional firsts including bringing the likes of Vodafone, McDonalds and Pepsi online. In 2004 Simon left Europe for Australia to lead the key accounts of Telstra and 20th Century Fox for ZenithOptimedia in Sydney. 3 years later Simon was tempted back to Central Europe to take on the Managing Director position of the newly launched PHD office in Budapest. In 2014 Simon moved into a dual role involving the leadership of PHD across Central & Eastern Europe as well as growing and maintaining PHD's Global Business. The Global hub in Budapest has delivered global planning, market engagement, digital, data & analytics and trading and investment services for the likes of Unilever, Ferrero, GSK and the VW group worldwide. In 2020 Simon took on a broader role across the entire Omnicom Media Group to lead the Accelerate unit focussed on driving business development, multimarket account management and client retention.
