About Simon Prins

Having served as a Military Diver, I embraced a rigorous discipline rooted in precise protocols and detailed mission planning. This foundational military experience served as a springboard for my career in the Netherlands National Police Force. During my more than 25 years in special operations with the National Police, I worked in a niche developing and implementing innovative methods and techniques to address various crimes. My role expanded from training and deploying specialist dogs equipped with sensors to establishing an operational innovative team, remote sensory, where animals, robots, and human operators worked together in special operations. Today, my mission revolves around consolidating all robot initiatives and ideas, with a vision to foster a robust robotics community and cultivate expertise within the Dutch National Police. And in that way, implement robotics on a much broader and more profound level in all sorts of police operations. I am a lifelong science student driven by the belief that the intersection of scientific understanding and practical, real-life approaches can bridge and resolve most challenges. Success lies in fostering positive reinforcement, safe learning environments, inclusive leadership, and crystal-clear communication. I am energized by the opportunity to bring together the best from the animal world, human professionals, robotics and technical equipment. This mission requires hard work, a positive attitude, an innovative mindset, and a hands-on mentality. With a firm conviction in the power of thinking out of the box, perseverance, ownership, stepping out of comfort zones, and embracing innovation, I believe that anything is possible.
