I am employed a a Diesel Mechanic supporting training activities at Jupiter Point. I previously worked as a relief First Mate at The Island Trust, across the three sail training vessels. I was responsible for watch keeping, maintenance, and working with trainees on board the three traditional gaff rigged sailing boats. I have over eight months of experience in this role, and I am working towards obtaining my Yachtmaster (sail) February 2024. I hold advanced powerboat and powerboat instructor with safety boat qualifications. Before joining The Island Trust, I worked as a self-employed boat crew/skipper and a site maintenance manager at Dame Hannah Rogers Trust, where I gained valuable skills in powerboat skippering, crewing, and marine engineering. I have multiple RYA certifications, advanced powerboat, powerboat instructor,PB2, Safety Boat, Day Skipper (Sail), First Aid, VHF, PPR, and ENG1 unrestricted. I also have STCW Personal Survival Techniques and Security Awareness certificates. I am commercially endorsed for RYA Day Skipper and PB2. I am interested in further training to become an instructor for RYA afloat and shore based courses and adhoc PBI opportunities. I am passionate about sailing and powerboating, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm with others. I am reliable, adaptable, and committed to safety and quality standards.
