About Simon Ringsmuth

As a Teaching and Learning Librarian at Oklahoma State University's Edmon Low Library, I work with faculty across campus to help them find ways to utilize our extensive collection of resources and research materials. I work closely with colleagues to develop and support Open Educational Resources in order to lower the cost of education for students, and create learning environments that are diverse, inclusive, and accessible to all learners. I serve on several campus and statewide committees, and am the Co-Chair of the Advanced Technology Committee within Oklahoma's Council for Online Learning Excellence. I am a self-starter, team player, and work hard to find solutions and make the most of the people and resources with whom I work. I am an Instructional Designer and Teaching Support Specialist at the Institute for Teaching and Learning Excellence, Oklahoma State University. I help faculty members at OSU learn to be better teaching through research-based, student-focused principles of course design. I lead workshops, webinars, and short courses where faculty explore best practices of student engagement, as well as learn how design effective assessments. Additionally, I have created an archive of short, targeted videos to help our faculty and staff learn how to use Canvas, the Learning Management System that we have here at OSU. https://itle.okstate.edu/canvas.html I also teach an upper-level Project Management class for the Management Science and Information Department at OSU's Spears School of Business. My class is designed to give juniors and seniors hands-on practice with a wide variety of aspects of Project Management including managing stakeholders, mitigating risks, and dealing with budgets and finances.
