About Simon Skinner

I believe there are two crucial ingredients for success; the first is the team and the second is information. I get inspired by working within a team of dedicated people all driven by the same fundamental motivation to do a good job. The best fuel for an efficient team is information availability, accuracy and clarity. I’ve been very lucky to be involved in teams that have been made up of outstanding people. I’ve even had the privilege of leading these teams. If the people that make up a business are its most important asset then it’s the interactions between them that creates the engine. As my knowledge of systems, both within manufacturing and software development has grown, I’ve come to appreciate the value of agile methodologies and the importance of iteration. I’ve learnt through experience that the road to success is littered with small failures however each is crucial in the delivery of a refined final product. I’m always in search of a better solution and firmly reject the hypothesis that ‘’if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.
