Having obtained a well-rounded skill set with practical experience and education in multiple Health Service disciplines: Recreational Therapy, Behavioural Intervention, Developmental Service Worker, Personal Support Worker, and Social Role Valorization, I provide a “Gold standard” in the delivery of personal care to clients with an innovative thinking approach to exceed client’s expectations and previous experiences of health care. I provide cognitive, social & emotional support, personal care, and assistance with ADLs to a varied client population, including persons with a Mental Illness, Dual-Diagnosis, Palliative, Neurological Disorders, Physical, Intellectual and Developmental Disability-Organize stimulating activities outside of the home environment to feel a sense of normalcy and promote personal growth-Support client’s needs, using a holistic approach that also fosters their independence-Assist clients in a respectful, supportive, and caring manner within their home and community. Using critical thinking, analysis skills and creativity to effectively implement and evaluate a variety of interventions to build support and maintain empathetic therapeutic relationships-Help develop effective behaviours that are personally productive and socially acceptable, while providing opportunities for maintaining optimal physical, spiritual, and social well-being-Equip clients with personal and psycho-social skills and empowerment to lead successful, independent lives by using a person-centred approach; actively involving them in decision-making-Create a safe environment for individuals to share and express concerns-Plan, implement, and evaluate Recreation and Leisure activities in accordance with each client’s care plan, using obtainable and measurable goals, while ensuring inclusion for social networking and personal growth opportunities-Group/Individual program planning, implementation, and evaluation to incorporate key concepts for recovery.
