About Simon Warner-Ingate

During 15 years as a practicing frontline paramedic I have gained wide exposure and experience in emergency pre-hospital care, both as a solo on a rapid response car as well as part of an ambulance crew (often mentoring new technicians) and occasionally on the helicopter. In this role I engaged with all levels of society and feel confident in any given situation when it comes to dealing with the general public. I also had to make many quick life or death decisions and helped my more junior crewmates to grow confident in their roles.I also undertook an 18-month secondment to Stansted Airport where I was the Solo Paramedic responsible for all medical emergencies and first aid calls within the airport, notably this position had a lot of responsibility and management issues working alongside BAA.Historically, I spent 9 years as a firefighter in the Royal Air Force, which taught me to be an excellent team worker as well as a responsible and professional individual. During my time in the RAF I acted as a 4-man crew commander during the national fire strikes and mentored many new recruits – assessing them on various drills and tasks as well as major incidents. During this time, I experienced many emergency life-threatening situations and grew to become very practically minded and learned to work extremely well under pressure, and in emergency situations where time is critical.
