About Simon Weigl

By taking part in the dual study program at Siemens Amberg I had the opportunity to combine the theoretical knowledge of a course of study (BE in mechanic engineering) with the practical hands-on skills of an apprenticeship (IHK in mechatronics). In my practical semester I went on a 10 weeks business trip to Chengdu, China to support our component engineering quality department. Not only could I get hands-on experience in an international engineering environment, it also further improved self-organized work and advanced English skills. In my bachelor's thesis I implemented advanced non-destructive testing equipment (Computed tomography/blue light technology)and corresponding software. Since then I am a component engineer for plastic parts. In cross-functional collaboration with R&D, production and procurement we presue our products over the whole lifecycle and cooperate closely with suppliers.
