And so Simon finds himself leaping from Project to Project, striving to put right what once went wrong and hoping each time that his next leap. will be the leap home. Some people run from challenges, some people embrace them. Being a Project Management Professional, everyday contains a new challenge, and its exciting! As a child, I wanted to know everything, how things worked, why things worked, what happens when I do this? When working on a Project, I still have the same inquisitive nature, I need to understand why things happen in order to make things work correctly. By exploiting this eager nature over many years, I am proud to call myself a Project Control expert; Understanding what needs to be challenged and reviewed to ensure smooth delivery of Projects. What measures are appropriate to the Project in order to satisfy my Stakeholders? Maximising my use of dependency management in order to retain Project Schedules. Applying a sound financial strategy in order to control costs. Throughout my career, I am proud to have worked my way up the Project Management path within every discipline. I've spent time as a Scheduler, hence understand the mechanics of Project Schedules, Gannt Charts, Critical Paths, Earned Value Management. I've been a Cost Controller; I've managed P&L, I've analysed Project Manager's CPI and EV, i've challenged Project costs and presented mitigations to CEO's. I've managed large Projects, i've managed small Projects. I've been a Risk Manager, a Document and Configuration Manager a Stakeholder Manager, an administrator, a number-cruncher, a troubleshooter, a firefighter but most of all, i am a doer. My reward for these varied positions over the years? The trust my company puts in me to deliver such projects, small or large and being able to support and experience others whilst ensuring my current Projects run smoothly.
