Background
About Simona Bracci
The passage of time has offered me the chance to follow different paths, gain different expertise, shape different careers. My first job was in the Academic field, as an archaeologist. Method, self-organization, critical thinking, analysis have long been my "daily bread". Digging and walking through Sumer were among my most exciting adventures ever. After finishing my Ph.D. I entered the world of cultural tourism and University teaching. I gained demonstrated experience in creating and leading cultural and food & wine itineraries. I developed narratives and lectured on topics like food & wine, art history, archaeology. I have travelled to countries all around the world, working as tour-leader and a tourist guide. Finally, became a lecturer in Universities in Rome. Drinking a glass of Vino Nobile - while admiring ancient Montepulciano town walls - inspired me something new. I developed solid expertise in the wine branch. I am a current student at DipWSET (in 2016 got my WSET and a certified Sommelier in Italy. In recent years, I have gained a good knowledge of the German wine market. My focus has been the Berlin wine market and its surprising “gastro-world”. I experienced direct contact with clients and gastronomes and have enjoyed advising them. By leading online and in-person tastings, I helped customers and curious to discover more about Italian (and on a minor level foreign) wines. I have held lectures and courses on fascinating topics of wine history. I was also a Judge in Wine International Contest in Berlin (Berliner Trophy). Passion has driven my study and job choices. My working experiences sharpened my client-oriented approach. Growing up in the research and tourism field, I necessarily had to develop problem-solving and flexible attitudes. Lately, I decided to sum up the whole of that in my latest (?) working adventure with the creation of my own project where all my passions find their place The challenge is now to turn these passions into a sustainable form of tourism. What's next? I do not know, though I wait curiously…
