About Simone Antonini

I realized to be keen on technology when, at age of 8, did my father's computer class homeworks on a Commodore 64. I then graduated in Telecommunications Engineering, and I think that does not surprise at all that I feel comfortable when working in highly technological environments. As a matter of facts, every technological novelty acts to me as if I were attracted by the "song of Ulysse's sirens". I think my wife best defined me as a "technology-addicted" man. I work for an international company that operates in different technology sectors (Telecom & Media, Automotive, Energy, Aerospace & Defence, Financial) and this gives me the opportunity to stay-tuned on every technological change, so I have the chance to deepen knowledge on the mobile network evolution, from 2G to 3G and now 4G with an open-eye on 5G, to deal with transport over TCP/IP and WDH topics and even to analyze network nodes capacity and related expansion costs. The most enjoyable part of my job is result presentation, which passes through the definition and implementation of specific indicators (KPI) that summarize the analysis of large amounts of data into a straightforward outcome. These KPIs are then shown in fancy dynamic dashboards or proper presentations designed to give an overview to various key players of the company (Top management, division directors, engineering departments etc.). Outside work I like to play football (my second passion), to travel when possible and to spend some joyful time with my family.
