About Simone Buechler

Experienced Researcher, Development Practitioner, Policy Maker, Scholar and University Teacher who draws on 25 years of experience working in international development and academia and focusing on developing improved policy and practice around reducing inequality and increasing economic opportunity. Simone Buechler has worked with many of the world’s leading institutions such as the World Bank, the UN and INGOs and used her strong research, analysis, programme design, policy development, gender integration, and facilitation skills to foster innovative programmes on the frontlines of change around poverty eradication, employment generation, decent work and social inclusion of socially disadvantaged groups including women, indigenous peoples, immigrants, and squatters. In all of her work she has strived to give voice to these disadvantaged groups, gained a deeper understanding of the impediments and opportunities for socio-economic change through her research and dialogue, and fought for innovative policies and programs that break down the discriminatory impediments.
