My study path is composed of such self-selected subjects: Repair Materials for Concrete Structures, Material Corrosion and Protection, Numerical Analysis, Steel Constructions, Building Monitoring Geo-Techniques and Computational Mechanics of Solids and Structures; in addition to mandatory ones: Structural Materials, Mechanics of Materials and Structures, Soil Mechanics and Foundations, Seismic Structures, Structural Elements in R.C. and P.C, Architectural Design 1, Architectural Design 2 and Dynamics, Instability and Inelasticity of Structures (last two in English).My Bachelor's Thesis was focused on only modal analysis technique in the frequency domain, by a refined Frequency Domain Decomposition (rFFD) algorithm. The aim is to investigate the validity of the identification method at seismic input, a challenging scenario where the traditional assumption of stationary Gaussian white noise input does not apply. Starting from one algorithm developed within the MATLAB environment, the target is the final validation of the method at seismic input from the FEMA P695 seismic database, an extended earthquake repository consisting of a 22 multi-component seismic record set.My Master’s Thesis focuses on the design of a highway bridge on the Apennines, very seismic zone, where I’m investigating the items of nonlinear dynamics, nonlinear computational mechanics and a new seismic design method (not yet used in legislation) the Displacement Based Design (DBD).
