About Simone Clow

After more than three decades in visual effects—on productions ranging from Saturday Night Live to Hacksaw Ridge, The Great Gatsby, and even a FIFA World Cup bid—I took a leap. In 2017, I stepped away from running a VFX studio in Sydney and into the world of immersive technology. The turning point? A single moment inside a VR headset. That experience made one thing clear: the future of storytelling wasn’t on a screen—it was something the audience could step inside. That realisation led to the co-creation of Zebrar: a company built to reimagine how people connect with stories, spaces, and brands. At Zebrar, we design real-time immersive experiences that aren’t just visually striking—they’re participatory, emotionally resonant, and deeply engaging. From live shows and large-scale events to cinematic VR, museum exhibits, AR, interactive brand activations, and spatial storytelling, everything we build starts with one question: What do we want the audience to feel? We’ve collaborated with global brands like Salesforce, Meta, Accenture, and IBM to bring immersive ideas to life—pushing the boundaries of how technology can drive real-time interaction and audience engagement. As a founding member of the Australian Metaverse Advisory Council and a frequent speaker at events like SXSW, I advocate for purposeful, human-led innovation. I’m also passionate about increasing visibility for women in emerging tech—and helping redefine what leadership looks like in this space. My career has spanned film, VFX, and immersive technology—but one thing has stayed the same: A commitment to creating experiences that engage people.
