About Simone Cox

I am currently preparing to return to school to continue my studies in Biology and Psychology. Previously, I studied Biology, Psychology, and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Idaho. My diverse academic background has given me the opportunity to gain knowledge in multiple fields and develop skills in adaptability and problem-solving. During my time at the University of Idaho, I spent two years focused on Biology and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. I was offered the chance to serve as a teaching assistant for ISEM 101: Gender in the U.S, where I developed skills in: • Creating and organizing class plans • Grading assignments and providing constructive feedback • Designing grading rubrics • Planning and facilitating class activities Additionally, I had the privilege of working with Rob Keefe, an associate professor and former manager of the U of I Experimental Forest. This experience helped me gain proficiency in: • GIS technology • Designing and conducting experiments • Professional research and writing for forestry • Assisting graduate students with their experiments • Calibrating and installing weather stations • Measuring the dielectric permittivity of soil • Creating geofences using tablets and the ‘R’ program In the summer of 2017, I completed an internship with the United States Forest Service in the Recreation Department, where I gained experience in: • Trail maintenance and restoration • Public service and visitor assistance • Campsite upkeep • Providing fire logistics aid I also have experience as a Patient Care Technician for dialysis patients. I am skilled in: • Cannulation and administering medications • Patient monitoring and vital sign assessment • Assisting with non-ambulatory patient care and transfers, including using Hoyer lifts • Time management and emergency intervention in critical situations, such as patient fainting or blood pressure drops • Providing care for individuals with COPD and AKI (Acute Kidney Injury) Currently, I have been in the pharmacy industry for a number of years and work as a pharmacy technician. I am now seeking unique opportunities where I can apply my diverse skills and passion for helping others!
