About Simone Ferraresi

I am a musician and educator with extensive experience in teaching, performing, and leading musical organizations. As the Founder and Artistic Director of the Ferrara Piano Festival, I promoted cultural exchange between piano students in the United States and Europe, enriching their education through greater understanding of different cultures. I currently work as a full-time music teacher at Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn, New York, where I also supervise the after-school music school known as Poly Prep Conservatory. As the Artistic Director at Cantantes in Cordibus in Jersey City, I lead the choir and serve as an organist for more than 65 performances a year, planning rehearsals, programming concerts, and fundraising for the nonprofit organization. As a composer, my works have been published in the US and Italy, including the Variation on a Theme by Bellini, 4 Preludes for Piano, Concert-Etude Op. 1 for Piano, Cantata L'Amor Perfetto for Soprano, Mezzosoprano, Alto and Harpsichord, and Sonata for Alto Saxophone and Piano. I am also an accomplished concert pianist and have performed at prestigious venues around the world, including Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and Duke's Hall in London, Festsaal and Konzerthaus in Vienna, Sala Puccini and Teatro Comunale in Milan, Salle Gaveau in Paris, and the Cappella Paolina and RAI Radio3 Concert Series in Rome. Before founding the Ferrara Piano Festival, I was the Uptown Manhattan Manager and Piano Teacher at The Piano School of NYC, Inc, where I supervised after-school piano programs in the public schools of New York City and was responsible for administrative assistant duties and hiring piano teachers. I have also worked as a piano faculty at Concordia College in New York and, as a Visiting Professor of Piano, I taught Master Classes at several institutions, including the "Petrov" State School of Music in Moscow, Russia; the "Ippolitov-Ivanov" School in Moscow, Russia; the Central School of Music in La Puente, CA; and the G. Frescobaldi Music School in Ferrara, Italy.
