About Simone Moretti

Interested in challenging opportunities in tourism research & consultancy projects, academic positions (teaching and research), tourism destination & product development, sustainability and impacts of tourism. Currently working as a researcher at the Academy for Tourism - Professorship Social Impact of Tourism. The combination of professional knowledge and more recent academic and research experiences shaped my background, creating a versatile, multi-skilled and internationally oriented profile. After more than 6 years of work experience in business management & development with increasing responsibilities, I stepped out from my comfort zone to evolve my professional profile towards my passions, pursuing a Master in "Tourism Destination Management" at NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences, in The Netherlands. The Master had a practical and international orientation and provided me with a first-hand experience in tourism and a wide range of skills, as a result of field research projects carried out in Australia (Sydney), South-East Asia (Myanmar, Bali, Singapore) & Spain (Barcelona). Further involvement in international projects in Thailand (Bangkok) and Belgium (Brussels) strengthened my knowledge and experience about the industry and its functioning.
