About Simone Sharp

I am a Certified Project Director and professional client side project manager with great attention to detail who thrives in this highly demanding environment. In my new role as Principal, NZ Health Sector lead at Rubix, I looked toward to seeing the benefits of growing a diverse team and leading them to achieve exceptional results. Together we are dedicated to delivering our most technical and challenging projects within tight timeframes and to our client’s specifications. As well as leading a high performing team, I’m a champion for diversity across the construction industry. Previously a registered Pharmacist, I sought a career change following my overseas travels. This led me to retrain at the University of Auckland where I graduated Senior Scholar with a Bachelor of Property. Working in both retail and hospital pharmacy in New Zealand and the UK/Ireland my health background gives me invaluable insight into health-related projects. I have worked across a variety of property sectors including aviation, healthcare, speciality retail, office space and general construction both for refurbishments and new builds. My experience covers a broad range of project management, design management and team leadership skills throughout the project lifecycle. As a former recipient and now Trustee of the Keystone Trust, I am proud to give back to an organisation that has provided me so much support throughout my property career. In a mentoring and role model capacity with my work, Keystone, Auckland University, and other organisations, I work hard to create engagement opportunities that support rangatahi into a spectrum of property and construction industry roles. I’m so proud to have been awarded the RICS NZ Woman of the Built Environment award in 2021 in recognition of my professional success and contribution to the industry. I’ve recently joined the Auckland Tree of Knowledge Committee furthering opportunities for industry connection and networking.
