About Simone Stark

I have 10+ years of field and design experience and am the Landscape Architecture Creative and Departmental Director for Strang Design in Miami, Florida. In these roles I am responsible for the artistic visioning of the firm’s landscape scopes while furthering the firm’s established environmentally native aesthetic, from conception to design development, through to sourcing and construction administration. Additionally, I have operated my design-build since 2011. I am a Florida International University alum with a B.A. of Sociology/Anthropology and a Master's in Landscape Architecture. I received Honorable Mention in the 2021 CERF International Biennial competition for collaborative work on coastal resilience strategies. In 2022 I was honored to present my partial thesis work at the first annual Florida Wildlife Corridor Summit as well as to be distinguished as a 2022 National ASLA Game Changer and presenter at the 2022 ASLA National Conference. In 2023, I received the LAF Daniel Zwier Innovation Scholarship and was the recipient of the ARCC King Medal for Architectural and Environmental Design Research. I am also the recipient of a 2023 ASLA Florida Honor award. I am a member of the Sigma Lambda Alpha Honor Society for Landscape Architecture as well as the Tau Sigma Delta Honor Society for Architecture and the Allied Arts.
