About Simphiwe Maseko

I work as a Risk and Reporting Officer at EWSETA, where I oversee the implementation of the Risk Management Strategy and the Risk Management Plan. I am also responsible for maintaining the compliance universe and compliance calendar, ensuring adequate insurance coverage, processing insurance claims, facilitating the smooth running of the external and internal audits, following up on audit findings, evaluating tender bids, and coordinating B-BBEE verifications. My educational background includes a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting Science and a Bachelor of Accounting Science degree (BCompt). These are supported by significant professional development training, which includes GRAP, International Standards on Auditing (ISA), Risk Assessment, and Audit of Performance Predetermined Objectives. I am passionate about motivating staff and transferring knowledge and skills to my direct reports. I have developed a robust understanding of ISO COSO Framework, GRAP and the PFMA and have been able to build a considerable professional network, which includes colleagues, audit clients, and other role players in the accounting, auditing, and risk management fraternity.
