About Simran Ghumman

I'm Simran Ghumman, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. My professional path is rooted in a strong commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed mental health care. With additional certifications in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and suicide intervention (ASSIST), I specialize in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, addiction, burnout, and relational stress. Over the past several years, I’ve worked as a mental health case manager and group facilitator, delivering psychoeducational workshops in schools, community centers, and wellness programs. My approach integrates CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and narrative practices and is tailored to meet each client's unique needs. I'm especially passionate about advocacy, reducing stigma in racialized communities, and creating spaces for healing and growth, particularly for South Asian women. My long-term goal is to contribute to the field through clinical work, supervision, and community engagement.
