As a passionate and dedicated Recreation Therapy Assistant with hands-on experience in the field, I am committed to providing person-centred care that enhances the physical, cognitive, emotional, social and spiritual well-being of individuals. My background includes designing, implementing, and evaluating individualized and group therapeutic recreation programs that align with the diverse needs and interests of residents, particularly those with dementia. Key Skills: I have a solid foundation in Responsive Behaviour Support, and am skilled in the use of therapeutic recreation modalities and group dynamics to improve quality of life. Through my role, I aim to foster meaningful engagement by developing and leading activities that promote social connection, cognitive function, and overall wellness. My ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams has been central to my success in delivering high-quality care. Professional Achievements: I am also passionate about continuous learning, holding various certifications including CPR/First Aid, Dementiability, Music Care, and more. Currently pursuing my Recreation Therapy Accelerated Program at Mohawk College, I am excited to deepen my knowledge and skills to better serve my clients. Future Aspiration: In the future, I aspire to contribute to research in recreation therapy, particularly focused on evidence-based practices that demonstrate its impact on different patient populations.
