About Simran Nanda

A social worker with a niche interest in a mezzo approach between social service administration and policy practice, I have been involved in advocacy efforts since age 14 for queer rights awareness in NCR Delhi, India. It lead to work with a more diverse socio-economic beneficiary bracket with age-appropriate comprehensive sexuality educational efforts with Pratisandhi and The Zero Period, gender based violence qualitative research and case management with the Delhi Commission for Women and Blank Noise, and diversity and inclusion with FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry); all located in New Delhi, India. While pursuing my Masters in Social Work, Social Policy and Social Administration from the University of Chicago, I worked closely with high and senior Chicago Public School students for workforce development and college readiness through multiple initiatives, and with Prevent Child Abuse America on policy advocacy efforts for child abuse prevention. I currently find myself building impact in youth development and child and family policy in the United States. I'm here to expand my knowledge and make anti-oppressive, socially just, inclusive rights-based interventions. Feel free to connect with me for more.
