About Simron Kang

I am a QA Tester at Green Shield Canada (GSC), a leading health and dental benefits provider in Canada. I have over 10 years of experience in manual and automation testing, spanning the healthcare and banking industries. Over the last few years, I have been performing system testing, regression testing and smoke testing. I am part of QA team working on monthly release testing cycles. My core competencies include designing, executing, and maintaining manual test cases as well as automation test scripts. I can design and write test scripts for web testing tools ( like Cypress, Selenium), BDD testing (using Gherkin, Cucumber testing library) and API Testing tools ( Postman, Cypress). Competent in setting up CI/CD pipeline for automated Test execution and reporting (using Jenkins) I also have experience and knowledge of web development lifecycle and processes, including Agile, Kanban, Behavioural Driven Development (BDD). Experience with defect/ team management tools like Azure and Jira. My interest in web development has led to me learning about front-end JavaScript frameworks, server-side development, and web UI frameworks. This in turn helps me when writing web automation script and also enable me to collaborate effectively with the development team and provide feedback and suggestions. My mission is to deliver high-quality products within the target timeframe, that meet the needs and expectations of customers and stakeholders.
