Highlights: • Polymer syntheses: emphasis on “living”/controlled free radical polymerization, conventional free radical polymerization (Solution, Emulsion, and suspension), condensation polymerization, and dendrimer syntheses. • Rubber Technology: including technical support, failure analysis, problem solving, new product/formulation development, design of experiment, and formulation breakdown. • Organic syntheses: including air/moisture sensitive reactions, coupling reactions, ligand syntheses, metal-ligand organometallic complex syntheses, monomer syntheses, initiator syntheses, and other small molecule syntheses. • Design and construction of supramolecules and supramacrocycles based on metal-ligand coordination reactions. • Nano-science: extensive experience in preparation, modification and characterization of carbon nanotubes and metal/inorganic nanoparticles, as well as subsequent constructions of nanocomposites. • Surface chemistry (surface modification and characterization) and surface coating (spin coating and sputter coating) on metal/inorganic surfaces (e.g. Au and Silicon wafer). • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experiences in operation processing technologies, e.g. compounding, extrusion, injection molding, fiber spinning. • Characterization techniques: NMR, transmittance and reflectance FT-IR, UV-Vis, fluorescence spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, AFM, SEM, TEM, ellipsometry, XPS, TGA, DSC, DMA, tensile tester, rheometer (capillary and rotational), GPC, MS, HPLC, elemental analysis, cyclic voltammetry, interferometric microscopy (IFM) and dynamic light scattering. • Paper review for scientific journals including Material Science and Engineering B, Journal of Material Chemistry, Carbon, and International Journal of Polymer Science. • Strong communication skills and team spirit.
