About Sinead Denning

Hi, I’m Sinead! Originally from Ireland and also half German, so I grew up speaking both languages. I moved to the Netherlands in 2018 to study Psychology at the University of Groningen, a city that still feels like a second home. After graduating during COVID, I landed a job in Amsterdam and have been here ever since, building a life and career I genuinely enjoy. I started out in recruitment, drawn to the people-focused nature of the work. But I always knew I wanted something more creative and strategic. I’ve long been fascinated by how people use social media to connect, communicate and influence. Without a marketing degree, but with a lot of curiosity and the right support, I pivoted into marketing. Working in a startup gave me room to experiment, fail, and figure things out I was the first person hired at KIGYO after the founders, which meant I had a hand in shaping almost everything. Some of the projects I’ve led include- Developing a personality-based candidate evaluation system from scratch, using my psychology background to create something structured and practical - Leading a full rebrand of KIGYO, from visual identity to tone of voice to comms strategy - Building a global network of senior renewable energy professionals - Organising events that connect our network, from roundtables to larger meetups - Planning our first podcast and webinar series to deepen industry conversations Today, my role spans three main areas: 1. I help our consultants build personal brands on LinkedIn, creating tailored strategies for content and outreach 2. I manage our growing online community, keeping it active, valuable and relevant 3. I lead brand and content strategy across the company Since joining KIGYO in 2021, I’ve grown alongside the business. I I’ve learned to adapt quickly, make decisions without needing all the answers, and bring clarity in fast-paced, dynamic situations. I’m known for being grounded, reliable, and outcome-focused. Looking forward, I want to keep growing as a community builder. It’s a fast-evolving space, and I love the challenge of creating environments (online and offline) where people connect, share, and genuinely gain something from the experience. Outside of work, I'm always up for trying new things! I love cycling, bikepacking, going to the gym, and (slowly) training for a half marathon. I also spend time reading and making things: crochet, embroidery, sewing, even clothes I actually wear. I’m always learning, always creating, and always pushing myself mentally, physically and professionally.
