Background
About Sinny Trivedi
Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UCD exploring carbon nanotube (CNT)-based dispersions for energy-efficient electro-optical applications. Experienced in AFM-based surface characterization and interdisciplinary nanomaterials research. Passionate about teaching, mentoring, and outreach, and dedicated to advancing innovative science with real-world impact. During my Ph.D. in Physics at Gujarat University, I focused on wide bandgap oxides, specializing in their growth, structural, and electrical characterization. This research strengthened my foundation in experimental physics, honed my analytical thinking, and nurtured a deep interest in advanced materials and their physical properties. Building on this foundation, I joined the UCD Conway Institute as a Visiting Researcher, where I developed expertise in Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and its advanced modes, including c-AFM, KPFM, PFM, and Lithography. This experience expanded my understanding of surface characterization, nanomaterial interfaces, and interdisciplinary collaboration across physics and chemical engineering. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Physics at University College Dublin. My research focuses on developing and characterizing CNT-based dispersions for energy-efficient electro-optical applications, integrating nanomaterial engineering, optical physics. Alongside my research, I am passionate about teaching and scientific outreach. Having taught in Montessori and higher-education settings, I enjoy communicating complex scientific ideas in accessible ways and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds. I aim to continue advancing in research and innovation, while remaining open to opportunities that combine scientific discovery, teaching, and public engagement to create a meaningful impact within and beyond academia.
