About Siouar Douss

Siouar Douss aspires to lead and contribute to powerful, transformative, and intersectional social justice work that commits to gender justice, human rights, and shifting power systems through global feminist movement building using Southern Feminism lenses. Siouar Douss [she/her/hers] is the Director of Feminist Crisis Response at the Global Fund for Women. A gender justice practitioner, human rights defender, and feminist philanthropy professional of Tunisian origins, Siouar is based in Amsterdam. With over 10 years of experience, she has contributed to designing transformative youth development programs, community resilience projects, and gender justice initiatives, while championing women’s and LGBTQI+ rights. A seasoned expert in feminist crisis response management and philanthropy, she focuses on supporting women- and LGBTQI-led organizations in crisis settings to address community needs through locally led, sustainable solutions that tackle the root causes of inequality. Siouar has supported human rights defenders and grassroots organizations worldwide and made innovative contributions to art therapy workshops for activists, using painting and writing as tools for healing and resilience. She holds an MA in Gender and Development from the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex and is a Chevening Scholar.
