About Sithembiso Mlambo

Recently, I am a senior facilitator at the University of Free State (UFS) with three years of experience as an academic tutor, two years as a learning facilitator, and two years of peer advising. In addition to that, I am a qualified teacher and can teach English as a foreign/second language too (TEFL), social studies, and some intermediate-phase subjects. As a facilitator, I seek to contribute to the student’s emotional well-being, capitalize on students’ strengths and recognize their weaknesses. As a learning facilitator, I work toward helping students to reach their full potential and believe in the contribution that they can make to the world. Some of my roles include Coordinating and facilitating within the formal structures of the institution(campus), all aspects of the learning and teaching process. The role includes the implementation of learning and teaching strategies to improve the quality of learning and meet delivery outcomes by implementing student support and related academic activities. I strongly believe that as a facilitator I act as a teacher/lecturer to learners. I am open-minded to connecting with what the learner may need at the moment. I am skilled in the art of empathy and strength of character to offer kindness, opportunities, and challenges. I believe that my role as a facilitator is to assist students to enjoy learning and becoming independent without being afraid to try new things. I focus more on students’ strengths to bring out the best in the child. This, in turn, will help boost their self-esteem. I have the ability to be cooperative with others, display a good-natured attitude, and encourage people to work together. In my work, I’m convinced that having the ability to interact with others and establish personal connections with people is of paramount significance. Gallup strengths top 5: positivity, responsibility, discipline, strategic and empathy
