I am a poly-domain expert Futurist who spends a lot of time thinking about, and researching all the amazing technology and trends that are all around us. Understanding the Weaponisation of Technology is a passion and a few years ago, our first ‘Threat Matrix’ was born. The TM is an analysis/commentary on a technology/process or combination of multiple technologies, that can create a dangerous or risky situation which is relatively easily exploited. Threat Matrix topics have even revealed problems in the current legal framework, LEA investigative procedures and military tactics. My key areas of interest are Technology based Future Crime. I seek to create awareness through Public Speaking, keynotes, private briefings, as well as offering support services for Police, Intelligence, Think Tanks, Critical Infrastructure, Government Officials and their teams. I am also keen to work with large enterprise, education providers and small businesses. I am VERY passionate about, but oppressively disillusioned by Cybersecurity. I think CyberSecurity Education in Australia in-general is a joke. I have some very strong opinions about where the state of CyberSecurity is now, and where it is going, especially in the areas of the greatest risk - IoT. I am profundly frustrated by the amount of so-called 'Cyber' professionals out there that seem to have little actual clue, wisdom or vision. Most products from CyberSecurity vendors on the whole are akin to throwing a glass of water on a bush fire and scam clients into paying massive amounts of money for a false sense of security. I also love to build things and through The Future Crime Agency and Q Division, we've opened a lab that to build bespoke prototypes and solutions which assist in solving interesting problems. A few of our research fields are: Future Warfare, Policing & Terrorism; Consumerism; gamification, Transhumanism & Biohacking, Neuropriming, Nootropics, Brainwear (BCI), Virtual Identities, Cyberpsychology & Cybersociology, AI/MI, RFID/NFC, VR, Network Architecture, Automation/Orchestration, IoT, Smart Cities, Robotics and more. I help bring awareness across many disciplines to create opportunities without relying on the classic Futurist tactic of FUD (Fear, Uncertainty & Doubt). My seek to Empower people and organisations with a true understanding and perspective of how technology can be used for good, and also for bad. We need to be ready and truly understand the risks to ourselves and organisations.
