About Skip Hashimoto

Skip is a Managing Director and Tokyo Branch Representative for Ogier Global. Skip is responsible for the development of Ogier's legal and fiduciary business throughout Asia. Skip specialises in the asset management sector in Japan ranging from start-ups to global asset managers. Skip also specialises in alternative investments including but not limited to hedge fund strategies, private equity and venture capital. Skip's wide-ranging network allows him to work with fund promoters, asset managers, service providers and investors in throughout Asia. Skip currently sits on the executive committee of AIMA Japan (since 2018) Skip has worked in the Japanese financial sector for over 25 years with the first three years working at Deutsche Morgan Grenfell Securities as an economic research analyst as well as three additional years acting as a Business Development and Sales Manager for Deutsche Bank's Offshore Group (DBO) covering fund administration, corporate and global custody services. Following his time with Deutsche Bank, Skip worked for the offshore law firm Walkers for six years and headed up the Tokyo branch of Walkers SPV Limited to establish Walkers first ever office in the Asia timezone. During this time at Walkers, Skip mainly covered the structured finance and investment fund sector. Skip was also responsible for business development in the Asia region with specific emphasis on Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore structured finance and alternative investment funds markets.
