About Smit Zaveri

I am a publishing professional who has tried on many children's publishing hats - editing, marketing and sales. Now I just wear them all. I have been the editor on several award-winning books such as The Jungle Radio and Across the Line and critically-acclaimed books such as Jamlo Walks, Unearthed and Friends Behind Walls among others. I have worked with Pratham Books where I edited path-breaking picture books for readers of varying age groups and with differing comprehension levels and advocated for diverse publishing lists and voices across various forums. I am passionate about kid-lit, the transformative power of picture books and a tightly-edited piece of text. I have a soft spot for middle-grade fiction and picture books that are contemporary, forward-looking and funny. I am also the creator of Smit's Bookery Book and Cookie Subscription Service, a monthly book recommendation and cookie making venture to open minds and palates to new ideas and flavours respectively.
