About Smita Worah
As an education consultant working closely with the Bureau of Special Education, Connecticut State Department of Education, I aim to facilitate policymakers, administrators, curriculum and technology developers, and educators to deliver equitable programs for students with disabilities. I have worked with educators from over 90 school districts to develop programs for students with special needs. I have assisted school districts in implementing policies and procedures to support students and young adults with diverse needs at home, school, and community by providing training and technical assistance to develop inclusive programs for students with disabilities. I have also developed resources for educators and parents to assist students and young adults with disabilities in becoming independent within their limitations. As a dynamic educator and Fulbright Scholar, I strongly believe in social justice and that all students can learn.
