EPA: supporting research and innovation in alternative wastewater technologies. Primary focus includes nutrient removal, water reuse, energy efficiency and wastewater surveillance and removal of emerging contaminant, such as PFAS. Involved in analyzing innovative technologies in nutrient removal, specifically assessing the performance of the selected processes and the statistical variability of effluent nutrient concentrations as well as the site-specific factors that impacted performance. MDE: As a regulatory and compliance engineer, I was involved in analyzing and review of statewide landfill permit application, technical documents related to the construction of proposed and existing landfills, including applications for coal combustion by-product landfills. Some experience consist of detailed evaluation of old landfills, cell floor liner systems, leachate and liner collection systems, landfill gas collection, landfill gas to energy for electrical power generation, stormwater, and groundwater monitoring evaluations. BDI: My previous work with an engineering consulting firm included of performing design calculation, modeling, writing specification, and writing permits. As an intern during my undergraduate work, I conducted a feasibility research on the production of methane to supply energy from a bioreactor landfill in Highlands County, Fl. The research involved three months of field work and data collection. At the end of the project, an evaluation and suggestion paper was submitted to the Highlands County for further assessment.
