Sofi Langis is a an award-winning documentary director and executive producer based in Montreal. Prior to co-founding Impact, she spent several years at VICE as a senior producer and director. Her documentaries for VICE News and VICELAND have garnered over 20 million views and tackle everything from environmental issues, the war in Eastern Ukraine, sexual harassment at Parliament Hill, the Alt-Right in Canada, to gun laws in Texas. As a documentary director, shooter and editor, her career has also taken her to the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Asia for broadcasters and medias like RDI/Grand Reportage, Reuters, BBC, WWF and more. Her work also appeared on Discovery Channel, Canal Vie, TV5, SBS Australia. Langis is the recipient of two Gemini Awards, Digital Publication Awards, Canadian Screen Awards (Best of VICE Canada), two FICFA Awards and was nominated twice by the Canadian Association of Journalists.
