About Sofia Anthony

I graduated from the Elon University Doctor of Physical Therapy program in December of 2024. I have a bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology with a concentration in Exercise as Medicine and a minor in Hispanic Studies from East Carolina University. I have had two 8-week clinical rotations in the outpatient orthopedic setting, where I was very fortunate to receive excellent mentorship and learning experiences from clinical instructors. I have also had one 8-week rotation at a SNF, where I got to see various diagnoses within the geriatric population which provided continued development to my learning. My final clinical rotation consisted of 4 months at an outpatient neuro clinic which expanded my horizons and exposed me to so many unique diagnoses and challenges that facilitated a lot of professional and educational growth. My various experiences as a PT tech and rehab aide also gave me countless hours of valuable experience working with patients and clinicians that I continue to carry with me through my education. I have participated in graduate research investigating the acute vital, hormonal, and exertional responses to lower-extremity blood flow restriction training. I have presented this research in the form of posters or platform presentations at conferences such as HMSC, and APTA-NC. I am originally from Raleigh, NC and enjoy extracurricular activities such as weightlifting, running, mountain biking, and hiking with my dog in my free time. I played division I tennis at East Carolina University and continue to enjoy playing recreationally.
