About Sofia Bisegna

I am a biologist who is driven by curiosity for biomedical research and has been working in the field since my undergraduate internship. During my work experience, working in different research labs, I have had the opportunity to gain experience in molecular, cellular biology, and drug design. I studied the pathogenesis of ALS and a therapeutic strategy in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis using antisense oligonucleotides. I also had the opportunity to work in a different environment focused on research for diagnostic use in the veterinary field. I am currently working on a project focused on invasive melanoma and tumor microenvironment. Biomedical research has always captured my interest because I like to be involved in the application of research on patients’ health. I would like to use the experience that I have gained over the years to create a tangible goal for my future and contribute to helping patients with new therapies.
