About Sofia Cordoba

I’m originally from Bogotá, Colombia and recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Columbia University, where I completed my B.A. in History. I’m deeply passionate about storytelling and have nurtured that passion in both my academic and personal life. I have found that storytelling, especially in music and film, serves as a necessary bridge between individuals and truths that too often are swept under the rug. As vehicles for empathy and connection, and at their most effective, for change, well-told stories carry an immense weight in the development of our culture. As our world becomes both increasingly interconnected and hauntingly disconnected, it is of utmost importance to shed light on the stories that matter–I truly believe this to be my vocation. In the past, I have explored diverse approaches to storytelling: My work as a scripted series development intern for a writer’s group in Caracol TV gave me a taste of the enriching environment of collaborative writing for a higher purpose and my experience at Conservation International exposed me to a plethora of stories that are worth telling. Additionally, I have been pursuing my own music project on the side in order to share my own stories through the medium that is closest to my heart. I’m a highly adaptive, open minded, and creative individual and I thrive in my written and oral communication skills. I’m also a very versatile writer and work well in a collaborative environment, as well as under tight deadlines. I am confident that my experience and passion across creative mediums and my curiosity to explore and learn novel approaches for storytelling will lead me to success. I’m seeking a full-time job/internship in the entertainment industry, where my priority is to learn from those who have extensive experience and expertise in the field, while also contributing my creativity and enthusiasm to help create memorable and impactful stories.
