About Sofia Cruz

Game Designer specialized in Gamification, Creative Writer and Voice-artist. Currently working at ASML as a Learning Expert in Development and Engineering. I wrote my Master Thesis under the topic of Gamification and Mobile Micro-Learning for engineering students. I've studied Digital Games and Interactive Technologies at the Master in Multimedia at FEUP, where my main focus was Game Design and Interactive Storytelling. I'm very passionate about the field of games and interactive storytelling. Learning something new was always another big passion of mine, so at one point I thought:"what if I could combine it all?" My highest aim is to create solutions that allow learning to be efficient, effective, dynamic, fun and meaningful. That is why I made sure I chose to work in a field I am passionate about. I believe that's the best way to strive to be better and to make sure our work is well done and, again, meaningful. Before my masters degree, I graduated with a B.A. in Communication Sciences at FLUP, where I've specialized in Media Arts and 3D Design. On the last semester of my Bachelor's degree I was a 3D Artist Intern at 3Decide where I did a 3D reconstruction of the old [and no longer existent] Portuguese Crystal Palace (Palácio de Cristal). I became then a Collaborator in eHeritage Lab - New Media for Heritage Lab at the University of Porto. I'm a very good communicator and I'm very creative and professional. I am always open for a new challenge and always looking to evolve. I work well in teams and always strive to keep everyone motivated and in a good mood - together we can indeed go further, and I believe we perform our best when we are happy. I'm very diplomatic, resilient, passionate, organized and detail-oriented.
