About Sofia Eckrich

Strategy Manager at Accenture Strategy, focused on growth strategy in consumer-facing businesses. Previously, entrepreneur with experience in CPG, retail, social impact, ethical fashion, international supply chains, microfinance, fintech and technology start-ups. Class of 2021 MBA Graduate from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business with concentrations in Corporate Finance, Entrepreneurship, and Global Business. Fluent in Spanish and English, with extensive experience working throughout Latin America. As Co-Founder and CEO at Teysha Social Enterprises, I led the company from its founding to multi-million dollars in revenue and had a leading hand in shaping the value chain and all aspects of the business. I secured contracts with Nordstrom, Whole Foods Market, Novica/ National Geographic, and many specialty retailers throughout the US. Along with my team, I also opened Teysha stores and pop-up shops in Austin, TX and New York, New York and led a team of people based both in the USA and in Guatemala, driving cross-cultural collaboration and growth. After seven years of working in my own and advising other startups, I decided to pursue a long-time goal of obtaining an MBA at UVA Darden to further hone my business toolkit and leadership skills. As a Darden student, I served as the Co-Liaison for the Consortium for Graduate Studies in Management, VP of Admissions for the Darden Consulting Club, VP of Academics for the Hispanic American Network at Darden (HAND), member of the Student Admissions Committee, and a First Year Tutor in Finance. In my First Year, I also served as my section Diversity Representative, First Year Liaison for HAND, and the Academic Representative for the Consortium. I am one of six Batten Entrepreneurship Scholars in the class of 2021, and am grateful to have received a full scholarship from the Batten Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. As a manager at Accenture Strategy, I have built and led dynamic teams, managed complex projects across multiple workstreams and deadlines, and honed my consulting skills. I have had the pleasure of working closely with the World Economic Forum throughout my tenure, publishing two whitepapers with the Forum.
