About Sofia Jimenez

Born in Mexico City, I hold a degree in Industrial Design from Universidad Iberoamericana. My career began in an interior design studio, and in 2011 I decided to move to Playa del Carmen to further explore the hospitality and design industry. A few years later, I joined Hotel Esencia, a luxury property in the Riviera Maya, where I worked for almost three years as General Manager Assistant. This role provided extensive experience in the operational side of the hospitality business, deepening my understanding of service excellence and guest experience. I also collaborated closely on creative and design projects, gaining hands-on knowledge of FF & E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment), as well as event setup and decoration — experience that shaped my passion for brand identity and spatial design. I later transitioned to Project Manager at MayaLuxe, where I oversee inspections of luxury villas and prepare detailed FF & E reports to ensure each property meets brand quality standards. During this time, I also developed strong expertise in property management, supervising five high-end vacation rental properties. Currently, my focus is on merchandising, amenities, and brand standardization, developing SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to maintain consistency, elevate guest experience, and strengthen brand identity across all touchpoints.
