About Sofia Nieva

Hi! I'm an Applied Mathematician specialised in Data Science and Machine Learning who likes building practical and down-to-earth data-driven solutions for real world problems. Coming from a strong maths background gave me the ability to quickly learn new technical concepts as well as analytical thinking and problem solving skills. I’m very attentive to detail but also quite pragmatic. Love team collaboration and enjoy mentoring others. I have completed many projects (available at https://github.com/sofianieva) covering all stages of Data Science: understanding business needs; retrieving, cleaning, exploring and analysing the data; feature engineering, building predictive models, evaluating them; visualising and presenting the results. My latest personal project is a web app that compares today's weather in London with the weather on similar dates from the past 5 years and is available at http://35.88.156.189:8501/(hosted on AWS).
