About Sofia Thompson

I have over 10yrs of experience in the Hospitality industry, spanning multiple job positions including front of house, back of house, management and administration. I have 3yrs experience as a Learning Specialist in a call center environment, providing sales and customer service training. I dedicated 4yrs of studies to an education in Business Management, in Sydney Australia. I applied the time and knowledge acquired to the managing of two different cafes, also located within Sydney Australia. For a year I was involved in home Assisted Care for a disabled woman in her 30's, this work was deeply gratfiying and educational. Since I was a teenager I have done freelance translating (Spanish & English) for official companies such as Doctors Without Borders, as well as individuals visiting or working in Nicaragua. For one year in my teens I was an assistant English teacher at the American Nicaraguan School (ANS). I dont dedicate much time to translating anymore, but the past experiences have added ease to working in Business and sharing space with other nationalities and cultures. While living in Australia for 6 years, I spent free time working in event creation, running bars, setting up lighting, stage and sound gear. This remains a passion and has been beneficial to excercising efficient team work and time management skills. I am currently working on a startup for Digital Marketing with a business partner.
