About Sofia Wittmann

My mother predicted I would have a career in sports when I was 15. I laughed it off, but she was right. As the IMCS Coordinator at Colorado School of Mines, I coordinate daily operations for 21 club sports teams and over 300 intramural events. As a Volunteer Assistant Coach for MSU Denver Track and Field, I work directly with the horizontal jumpers and sprinters at the NCAA Division II level. I completed an M.S. in Sports Management from the University of Connecticut while competing on UConn's Track and Field team. I developed the Director of T&F Operations Handbook, worked as a Varsity Sports Performance Intern and with UConn Gear and Equipment, and received both my CSCS and USATF Level 1 certifications. Prior to graduate school, I attended the University of Vermont where I graduated with a B.A. in Global Studies while competing on the Varsity Track and Field team. I served as an Assistant Track and Field Coach for Mount Mansfield High School, leading the boys and girls pole vault groups to record-breaking performances while directing all coaching, logistical, and equipment requirements to ensure their success. I am a proudly retired Division 1 athlete and four-time conference medalist in the Big East and America East Conferences. As a Catamount, my 3.75m (12'3.5) PR remains second all-time on the All-Time Record List. My 3.87m (12'8.5) PR as a Husky is third on the All-Time Record List at the University of Connecticut.
